Meeting Point: Café Casa De Pasto Riba E Serra Time: 10:00.
There are a few gradual uphill climbs, and one short steep descent, therefore it is a grade 3 walk (medium). We can enjoy some nice views of the Monchique area in open countryside. The usual rules apply: wear suitable footwear, bring water, poles if you have them, no charge, walk at your own risk etc. If you would like to join us please add your name below as numbers are restricted to a maximum of 10 people. Directions to meeting point: Follow the N125 towards Portimao then turn off and follow the signs for Monchique. At the roundabout take the left turning for Monchique (N266). At the village of Rasmalho you will see the Café Casa De Pasto Riba E Serra on your left. Park on the right-hand side of the road, opposite the café. The café is open for coffee and they also do a very traditional Portuguese lunch within the 10 euro budget, including tip etc. We will drive up to the starting point of the walk which is around 3/4kms further along near the brown sign on the right Ribba A Torrinha. We will have to lead this walk in 2 x separate groups of 5. One group leaves at 10am and the other 10mins later. First group at 10am with Russell are Steve, Wendy, Dawn, John. 2nd group at 10.10am with Linda are Colin, Sharon, Wendy, Helena. The others added their names after we had 10 people. Sorry. Linda

We split the walkers into 2 x groups of 5 today due to the new restrictions. Russell headed out with the first group 10 minutes before Linda headed out with the 2nd group. We did not meet up and unfortunately Russell's

It was perfect walking weather today and we enjoyed great views. No rain for us but we could see the dark clouds in the mountains.

We noticed the new trees that were planted recently have grown very quickly.

group took a wrong turning and ended up having a very adventurous 16km walk. We enjoyed cool drinks after the walk and five of us enjoyed a nice meal at the Cafe at Rasmalho.
