The walk will start from Restaurant Casa De Pasto Parreirinha near the village of Odelouca. It is only 8kms, therefore around 2 hours. There are lots of ups and downs but nothing on all fours and all on good tracks. It is a grade 3.5 due to the number of ups and downs. We will be able to see the municipal tip in the distance but this can be a bonus as there are usually lots of birds so bring binoculars if you have them. Further along we pass by orange groves and enjoy some good views up to Alferce. The usual rules apply: wear suitable clothing and footwear, bring a drink, walking poles if you have them, no charge, walk at your own risk. If there is heavy rain forecast on the day we will cancel the walk and put a message on the forum.

Directions: Leave the N125 at the Portimao/Monchique exit and follow the N124 directions Monchique/Silves. At the roundabouts keep right and follow the signs for Silves. The restaurant is on the left side of the road before Odelouca. Please park on the right side of the road before the restaurant (near the bus stop). The restaurant should be open for coffee and they also do a set meal within our 10 euros budget, including tip etc. Linda and Russell will be guiding this walk whilst Geoff is back in the UK. On a beautiful sunny morning 15 scantily clad walkers and 5 dogs enjoyed coffees at cafe Parreirinho. Orders for lunch were taken before we headed up into the hills. We cut out the uphill scramble but still found lots of hills to climb. After a truly invigorating 2 hours in the warm sun we arrived back after completing 8kms. Apperatifs were enjoyed before we sat down for a sumptuous lunch in the sun terrace. We all managed to fit on one table and wine and conversation flowed. We had good food and great service. We left a good tip and made 10 euros for the charity. For all those back in the rainy UK, you missed a cracker. Linda and Russell.
