Hi Geoff,
Trust you are both well.
We’re not walking with the CVO group this coming week. We have Richard, Kim and family with us all week. I hope to walk Wednesday with AWW, but will ‘play it by ear’.
Trust you all enjoy your walk.
Best wishes to you both, John

Hi all
Just to say that the forecast for tomorrow looks much better than today, though there may be the odd shower, so bring a waterproof.....with all the rain in the last 24 hours, the water levels may be up a bit also!

Well, that was a walk with a difference.....the water levels were much higher than expected , after only a day of rain, so we had to abandon plans to walk up the stream bed, even though we crossed and re-crossed it :
So plan B was to retreat and go on the cafe Terinho walk. All went well up to the top:
Till I realised we would have to come back via the flooded valley.....so the Rambos climbed to a nearby trig point: We met 2 groups of horses, which the woofers didn't think much of , but we then back safely tracked back to the Cafe Torinho, about 2h 15 mins , and thence de-camped to Mira Rio for lunch, where we saw our old walking friends Mike, Su & Eileen : By some strange co-incidence, they were at the Mira Rio when Tish & alan last visited there!
Alan tried to impersonate Sharon;
but couldn't beat the real McCoy...
Thanks to all 40€ for the charity, 26 walkers, 22 lunchers, 4 dogs, 2h 15m....and thanks to Russell for organising the lunch.

What an amazing bunch of people! Thank you so much for your contribution today. We are supporting a number of local families and recently raised (with your help) 800€ to pay for the removal of 8 rotten teeth and new dentures for a lady caring for her 11 yr old son, 5 yr old grand-daughter and elderly grand-mother suffering from dementia. They recently lost their home and had no choice but to move into a shed, with electricity but no running water. Somehow they have managed to make a cosy home in the shed, which we furnished with items donated by kind people like you. Because or her bad, painful teeth and frequent abscesses this lady's health was suffering but now she is looking and feeling much more positive and the whole family are very grateful for the help they are receiving. We really do appreciate your support, Su & Mike
