Walk Monday 28 May 2018 : Casinhas. CLOSED
Posted: Sat Apr 28, 2018 11:36 am
PLEASE NOTE THAT WALK IS NOW FULL AS THERE ARE ENOUGH PEOPLE
Please note that Casinhas is unfortunately shut, so we will be starting from the little cafe about 500m further up the road, please see directions below. As we are going to a hash that evening, we will not be organising any lunch either, just a drink at the cafe at the end. There are plenty of other eateries in Silves.
It is becoming something of a tradition to end our series of walks with this one : we unfortunately go back to the UK the next day but will be back in October.
Track is fairly undulating, nothing (too!) steep, with minimal loose scree. The final descent is a bit steep. Lovely countryside, plenty of orange groves, nice views from the top.
It is ESSENTIAL that you indicate below if you can come and whether you want lunch, as numbers will be limited to about 20. Thank you.
Degree of difficulty : 2 (Moderate) but 3 ( Energetic) for one hill climb of about 100m.
Duration about 2 hours 15 mins.
Meet at Cafe " O cafe de Sua Vide" .
Start : 1000.....but please arrive by 0945 if you want a coffee!
Directions:
From CVO, drive to Silves and go over bridge, turn right.
At the roundabout, follow the N124 in direction of Messines.
After about 400m, almost opposite the Galp petrol station on your left, turn right on to " Turismo Rural".
Follow this for about 2.5 kms, when you will see the Cafe Casinhas on your right.
As the Casinhas is closed however, drive on another 500m and park on right. There is a small cafe on the ledt called " o cafe de Sua Vide" but it's difficult to see the name : however, it is the only one.
Lunch : Optional....Casinhas do a good Prato do Dia , but please note new lunch price policy atviewtopic.php?f=39&t=27800
Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.
Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0900 on the day of the walk.
Any questions , please ask or ring 282 380015 preferably between 1800-1900 or 8am to 9am but not before 15 May.
