Just an update...lunch ordered for 20 at 1pm....because of the large number, we will not be in the main restaurant, but in the covered area adjacent...it has a proper roof, but plastic & glass panels...weather looks OK, but bring a fleece just in case.....I expect the vinho tinto will no doubt help.

You can see it on the way up ( but easily missed) at :

Hi Geoff,

I don't know the terrain we will be walking. After last night's storm how soggy/cloggy is the ground likely to be?

I don't think the tracks will be a problem....they are mainly scree /gravel and will be dry(ish) ....not much mud at all.....my only concern is to hope the " bridge" hasn't been swept away!

The sun shone and 18 walkers turned up promptly : but no sign of the missing two who had requested this walk.....we waited the statutary 5 mins and were just setting off when a squeal of tyres announced Caroline and Karen's belated arrival from the outpost of Albufeira.

Anyway, a lovely walk , mainly in sunshine , with no getting lost ( alright, one back-track of 50m), all accompanied by the Bica Boa's big black dog , who looked as if he hadn't had any exercise since we were last here.

The bridge provided most excitement....it was intact but VERY slippery : with Mary P showing great panache.....

with Jim not taking any chances...or was he practicing yoga?

Paddy thought 2 sticks better than one:

but Nigel gets the wobbles....

before Sue wonders what all the fuss is about;

anyway, all safely over and up to the 19th. century aquaduct:

and back via a safer bridge:

for a well earned drink:

and 14 of us then went to Cafe Imperio for an excellent lunch with local tomato salad, presunto and cheese....and chicken p-p...all for 11€ pp.

Many thanks to all who came....we somehow did it in just under 2 hours, a record....we obviously didn't admire the views enough. as for Grade of Difficulty?.....2.5 perhaps?
