Walk on 21st March, Odiaxere

On Monday the 21st March we plan to repeat the very popular walk we did from Odiaxere in January.

It is a 1, without doubt and there are bird watching opportunities at the river.

Directions: Drive to Lagoa and turn left on the N125 until you get to Odiaxere, a village on the N125 between Portimao and Lagos, about 15 miles to the west of Carvoeiro.
Meet in the square next to the church in the centre of Odiaxere. Coming from Portimao it is on LHS, look for the orange golfe sign. There is plenty parking and cafes close by.

No doubt we will find somewhere for lunch after the walk!

Usual caveats: all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain.....I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.

Walking boots/stout trainers , walking pole(s), hats and water recommended but not really necessary. No charge, of course.

To give us an idea of who is attending please post your intention on the forum.

Count me in, Willie. The Portuguese restaurant/cafe I mentioned is in Arao, which is a turning just off to the right before you get into Odiaxere. It only takes about a 10 min drive max to get there from Odiaxere.. The St Pat's Society use it after their Odiaxere walks and it has always been excellent and good value. Unfortunately none of us can remember what its called, but its on the right hand side when you drive into Arao. Hope that helps.

Hope to join the scramble on Monday - not sure whether 1 means it's easy, hard or just a brilliant walk but we look forward to finding out . . .

Apologies, a 1 means very easy, no hills!

The predicted weather forecast for Monday is showers at 10 then more at 12. This should not stop us but best to pack a rain jacket.

I will check this again on Sunday, then Monday at about 8.30am for a final decision.

Walk is proving very popular but all will be accommodated.

Julia repoprts " Another great walk, this time at Odiaxere led by Carol and Willie about 6 miles but still only a grade 1. "

Looks like 28 plus dog!
