Hi all
Latest forecast for Monchique tomorrow is dryish with high winds....unfortunately, there's about a 25% chance of rain between 1000 and 1200.
I have a friend there who will give me a local weather report at c0800, so watch this space tomorrow morning.
Fingers crossed
Geoff

Early morning (0730) report from Monchique:
"The weather in Monchique at this moment is perfect for a good stroll.
It is windy, no rain and maybe 20% clouds."
So, see you there!

Much to our collective surprise, the wind and rain abated, though it was a bit fresh. Anyway, 20 walkers started off from Monchique, with Alan's daughter, Joanne and children, Emily and Josh who are our latest and youngest recruits. We were soon joined by a friendly black dog:
before wending our way down to the rickety-rackety and very slippery bridge:
Before posing over a more substantial one:
and back in a record time of under 2 hours, and thankfully just before a heavy shower. The dog knew she wasn't welcome inside the bar, but Emily had a new friend:
We retired to the Malhado Quente, where most had the ( very good) chicken piri-piri :
though Russell preferred the ribs:
whilst the ladies debated the merits of a novel use for cork bark
Just a reminder about 2 walks next week one on Monday 22 and another Thrusday 25th. Don't forget to sign up!
