Walk Monday 14th October 2013; Paderne

Post by mike28 »

As a "warm up" to Geoffs November walks we are going to take a stroll North of Paderne. The route follows the second half of the Cerro de São Vicente walk, approx 5-6Km

Meet at 10:00 a.m in Paderne at the small health centre car park between the cemetery and football stadium. Coming into Paderne on the N270 from the Albufeira end (i.e. from the west) the cemetery and then the car park are on the right. GPS coordinates N37.17563, W8.20423
(Pop the above coordinates into google Maps search box for detailed map)

Wear walking boots or stout trainers, the forecast looks ok but bring some rainwear just in case.

All walks at your own risk, and usual caveats about weather.

Any questions, call Mike on 937658245

Think if I leave a message the walk might go to the top of the list (nearly) just so it doesn't get missed. Hope some of you can join us. Su

Correct...and hope you get a good turn out....I put a note on the "Whose Walking in October" topic, so you ought to get a few!

Bit worrying that no one has said they are coming in November either, but remain optimistic!......think a lot of readers/walkers probably haven't registered on the site & hence can't post a response!

Think you're right Geoff, it's a bit of a tricky site to navigate but people do look just the same. We shall certainly be around in November and should have some friends to come along too. x

Thanks to a combination of perfect walking weather and great company we enjoyed a most pleasant stroll around the countryside North of Paderne
followed by a well earned drink at the local café.

Is her name really "Joke" or is someone trying to be funny?

I don't know the lady, but it is a Dutch name.....pronounced " Yoker"......as in joker, but with a "Y".

Hi Geoff, the ladies are house guests of Ros but are only here for a short stay.
They are indeed from Holland and so you are correct about the pronunciation of the name "Joke"
