Walk : Thursday 21 October 2010

Post by Geoff »

Firstly, please note change of date from wed 20 October.

As it´s Trafalgar day, a walk by the sea!

Meet at Presa de Moura, Sesmarias, for a 1000 start. Will take about 2 hours. Quite gentle, though a couple of scrambles!

Please wear stout trainers/walking boots. A pole is useful! No charge, of course.

Directions:
From Carvoeiro , going towards Lagoa , pass Intermarche on the left hand side. At the roundabout before Lagoa, turn left. ( As you approach this roundabout from CVO, the signs indicate left to Sesmarias : as you exit the roundabout, the appropriate road is signed Feraguedo, but that´s Portugal for you!).
At the next roundabout ( about 200 yards) bear right, signed Feraguedo.
At the watertower in Sesmarias, follow the road to the right through the village, about 3/4 mile. At a sharp(ish) right hand bend, turn left by a big sign of Presa de Moura. This is where the Island Cafe also is. Go into the Presa de Moura development, and park at the bottom , by a small cross roads.

Sounds difficult, but isn´t. If you pass the Colina de Lapa development on the right hand side, you have gone too far : back track at next roundabout.

Coming from Ferragudo, Presa de Moura is on the right hand side, just past Colina de Lapa , on the left.

Any problems ( or bad weather) ring 282 380015.

Hi Anne and all
Thanks for this...a lovely 2 hour walk along the cliffs, a quite beautiful day and good company : shame the Island Cafe has closed and we couldn´t get a coffee!
We had 14 on the walk, a big welcome to newcomers Anne along with Sue and Ken who read about the walk on this site, and also John and ?Liz who came as friends of friends. All welcome.

We are now going back to the cold UK, see you again in January ( & NYE!) and then probably April/May
