Walk 19 May, 2011: Eucalyptus Wood, Silves
Walk 19 May, 2011: Eucalyptus Wood, Silves
Hi all
10.00 start, fairly easy walk with a long slow uphill gradient and lovely views from the top, about 2 hours.
Stout trainers should suffice, boots better. Poles if you have them!
Don´t forget some water and a hat!
Directions:
From CVO, go over bridge into Silves and turn left on N124.
Drive about 2kms , past Continent on right hand side.
Take first right, drive about 1 km till reach " No Entry " sign : turn left then right after about 50 yards, and park in square in front of the Cantinha da Lina.
Any problems, ring 282 380015 before 0915.
Please indicate below if you can come.
No charge, of course.
Hope to see you all
Geoff

We'd love to be there, weather permitting. All our wet weather gear is back in the UK. Perhaps we were too optimistic

HI Geoff,
I wondered if the walk was still on for this morning because of then weather forecast?

The threat of rain obviously put some people off, but we ended up with 8 people and had a most enjoyable, rain free , walk through the eucalyptus woods : the group must have liked it as they opted for the longer ( more scenic) route back via the windmill and lavada. We welcomed Mike along with David & Hazel as newcomers, and look forward to meeting them again.
Sorry we missed Bill & Jan , along with Ann & Carole.....and Jackie can tell Bill that his rain forecast was out by 2 hours! It started as we left the cafe , but seemed localised in Silves area. Gerry made it....just!
For future refrence, I don´t have internet access out in Portugal (I use the free public facilities in Lagoa) , but I publish our phone number so, if in doubt, give us a ring by 0915.
That will be our last walk till the autumn : we have had some very good attendancies and and have a most enjoyable time, with both new and old walks .
Hope to see you all again in September or November.

Big thanks t Geoff for organising the ramble. I enjoyed the scenery, weather and company. Hope to be back in May next year for another walk.
Sue, hope the wedding arrangements are all sorted and it goes well later this year and your daughter is avoiding the arrival by boat option.

Many thanks to Geoff for organising the very enjoyable walk 2 weeks ago. The walk had some stunning views, great company and obviously Geoff had ordered the weather especially for us. (It started to rain after we finished our coffees and were getting in the cars).
It was great to finally meet Geoff along with Sue, David & Yvonne, Gerry & Mike. We will definately plan to come along again when our visits coincide with the walks.
I will post up some photo's tomorrow when I have re-sized them.
Thanks again.
Dave & Hazel
PS Come on LogicBob, you know you want to!!!!
