Koh Samui - Thai restaurant

Post by biffa »

This has opened up the hill by the side of O Cantinho. It is run by Raul Gomes and family who used to have the small Thai restaurant by between Casa Algarvia and Flic Flac.

It is good, much bigger than his last one and nicely decorated and furnished. Good food, good service by attentive, helpful staff.

7 of us paid 155 Euros. Also do take away, no credit card facility yet

A 5* vote:

Ambience: 5*
Comfortable chairs, spacious tables, great decoration and unintrusive music.
Service: 5*
Attentive, friendly and efficient.
Food: 5*
Prepared a lá minute with fresh ingredients, clients can choose how spicy they want their food, good portions, great presentation.
Price: 4*
Very reasonable price considering the quality and work involved.

Available for take-away and open 12:00 - 24:00 are also a plus.

This one will be open at Christmas and New Year with a Thai buffet I understand. Had dinner there a while back and recently went again for lunch. Excellent!

Cantinho's a bit boring, same menu for the last 20 years or so, time for a change! Still waiting for somewhere to do a good Moamba da Galinha :D But in the meantime (now that was a funny place :? ), I'll settle for a thai dinner on you 8)

Went there and loved it.
Food and service brilliant.
Unfortunately we were the only diners but
will definitely return in September.
First time for Mike and I am sure he will add his own comments!

A belated comment on this restaraunt. By moving from restaraunt hill where they had many fans and moving to the road along side O'Cantino did them no favours. Off the beaten track and unless you happen to pass by cannot be seen. I've never eaten Thai before but the reception, choice of menu, service, ambiance, and most of all the quality of the food was second to none. We went in June and it wasn't busy but they really do deserve a visit and there's plenty of room outside if you have a buggy or want to park the mother in law on another table.

May I add my comments too...Gary and I were there last Saturday, wow what a meal, fantastic, Thai dressed crab. Noticed the place when we were out in May, bit out of the way though. If you just stick to the main CVO stretch you wouldn't know it existed.
Gary is still out at our apartment for another 9 days and will def. pay them another visit...me! well I'm back at work......

Koh Samui Thai Restaurant

Post by Elaine »

Just returned from CVO and visited this restaurant for the first time - in fact our first time at a Thai restaurant. Thought it was very nice for a change but there were a lot of things on the menu we were unsure about and felt it would have been better if someone with us could have ordered things for us to try. We are not great rice or pasta lovers so the menu was very restricted. Lovely people and it was quite full that evening.
