O Telheiro Do Infante
Has anyone tried this restaurant - right on the beach at Sagres - the pointy bit at the end of Portugal?
Looks very good but maybe a bit pricey - and what does O Telheiro Do Infante really mean (translator says "The Shed of the Infant" or "The Roof of the Infant"!).

I don't know about the restaurant itself but Infante refers to Infante Dom Henrique, Prince Henry the Navigator

That makes a bit more sense than infant or child, but "shed" or "roof" doesn't seem right - in the translator I used, the word "telheiro" changed its meaning as I tyoed in more words - so presumably "roof" and "shed" are not what it really means - Restaurant of the Shed of Henry The Navigator - naw, can't be!ditzy wrote:I don't know about the restaurant itself but Infante refers to Infante Dom Henrique, Prince Henry the Navigator

I think Telheiro is the name of the beach where the restaurant is situated.
