Yes cheap.....consistently simple, but good quality home cooked food, and a fried egg on top of your chips....and you almost always meet somebody you know in there.jessi wrote: You just cannot beat Escondidinho for value and atmosphere, we are always made so welcome by all the lovely staff, they are never miserable, always smiling, and its always busy. It's known as the "Ritz", by most of the ex-pats that use it

Had the daily lunch menu other day, beef stew. All in 17 euros for 2. Good food, great value. Was very busy with workies which we take as a good sign! It's one of three local places where we can get a decent lunch for 7/8 euros a head.

Cumbria Sue, A Branco and Original. Local for us, but would include A Tasquinha in Lagoa for good value daily menu.........difference is the latter not frequented by local builders, gardeners, painters etc. On a good day can walk to A Branco.

So many restaurants, so little time lol! My wife and I usually have to go thro a serious of questions before deciding on where to eat.
New or tried?
Cheap and cheerful or higher end?
Walk, drive or taxi?
Who pays? LOL!!!!
