Where are they all?

Having been to Carvoeiro for many years I do know where quite a few of the restaurants are, but there are some who get mentioned regularly that I have not been to nor can figure out where they are.

Is there any smart reader who can produce a map (interactive if possible) that shows the locations of all the restaurants?

I'll buy you a pint or 2 if we ever meet up

Thanks Richard, but only a half for that - Colombos, Chrissy's, Mistral, O'Rafial,Vila Nova, L'Orange and loads more missing!

It needs a clever person to create something special for this site.

It needs someone with time on their hands, (eRichard or MC?) to create a Google Map that we can stick pins in. So when we mention a new place, we can pinpoint it.

Time is not the limiting factor !

Try this:

Lets call it the Carvoeiro Restaurant Wiki (which means we share the burden)
Anyone can add new Restaurants:

Above the list of restaurants in the left menu, you will see a button labelled Edit. Click that
Then you will see in the map, top left, the little blue balloon icon. Click that and then click the location of your restaurant.
You will be prompted to enter the name of the restaurant.

Thats all !

I've only entered 3 so far, await feedback, comments...

In my enthusiasm, I managed to delete the name Richard had given it! I added Bars for Pato's benefit, I hope that's OK.

Seems to me that you can only add the pinpointers in Map view, which doesn't give you that much precision. I slapped Cocktail Garden in the general area, switched to Earth view and then fine tuned it.

Well done e-richard, just whats needed for finding restaurants in CVO.

It may be worth telling everyone that you need have a google account to add new restaurants.

Thanks for the thought logicbob, but there are various tools around for sorting the place names after that has been done, but they seem to only work on a once-off basis. i.e. if you then add new places, you have to run a sort tool again, and those I've checked out seem a bit cumbersome.

Anyway, lets hope more people add some more places soon, then we can sort them, and hopefully make it a sticky and add the link to the FAQ
