Under-sink water purifier

Post by Sandy »

Has anyone recently fitted an under-the-sink water purifier and do they work sufficiently well to remove the taste of chlorine and other chemicals?
Does it affect the water pressure significantly?

Were all the rage a few years ago but seem to have died out. Neighbour bought one but when the filter needed renewal the firm had disappeared and filters were no longer available for his model. We used to buy bottled water but Doc. insisted tap water was OK and we have used that for many years with out any problems. At the moment small smell of chlorine but we leave standing in a jug before using and smell goes. i prefer the taste to that of bottled water and the bottled water must have preservatives as it has a very long expiry date.

I think you will find that water does not "go off" in a sealed container. Glass bottles of water do not normally have expiry dates on them, but plastic bottles of water do have. This is because after a while the plastic starts to degrade and then chemicals leach into the water, making it unpalatable and possibly bad for your health.
