I asked for any info on this site regarding data sim cards on pay as you go that provide a good allowance and was directed to a previous set of posts.
I was looking for an equivalent to the 3 Network in the uk that offers unlimited data (and 300minutes & 3000 txts) for £15.00/ month and obviously no contract.
Having viewed Vodafone, TMN, Optimus and 'piggy backs' Uzo, Phone ix and Vectone I think I've cracked it (well at least I hope I have). It might only be a limited offer but it should work for me. Vectone (Portugal not UK) appear to have the solution. They say it's an offer until 31 July, and I'll be back in the bright lights of North Yorks by then. Their site says that when you put 5 euros credit on their payg sim you get 7 days unlimited mobile broadband, 10 euros gives 15 days and 15 euros 30 days.
You can have a Portuguese sim sent free to the uk and it appears you can add credit online possibly in the uk but you can top up at CTT and Payshop locations.
My post is part to inform but more importantly to see if anyone in Portugal has used this and have I got the facts right?

How true, you'd think at my age I'd know what date it was ............... or perhaps it's because of my age!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you can come up with a better provider offering more than 5Gb because I can't.
I asked a question some weeks ago about data only sims on payg and didn't receive as informative reply as I hoped for with no indication of cost or allowance.
If I go payg with Vodafone.pt I'll pay 14.90 euros, have a 30 day card and get 1Gb of data which to me is useless.
So I've pre ordered 3 sim cards for free, I guess I put 5 euros of credit and get 5Gb of data over a seven day period and as long as I only use a shop voucher they can't charge me anything and I suppose it will just stop working once I've had my allocation. Then if I need more data I start again and recharge this card or one of the others with another 5euros.
What I'm trying to find on here is someone who might have tried Vectone and hopefully confirm what I'm saying rather than look at the negatives or come up with a suitable alternative.....and not free wifi in a bar etc. There must be somebody who uses 3g data and tries to get the best deal.
Obviously 15Gb of data for 15 euros is a better deal. I have just done something similar in Greece and consumed 6Gb of data in a week of business so that's why the typical TMN, Optimus and Vodafone tariffs aren't of any use.
