Property Taxes
Property Taxes
A new magazine has appeared on the shelves of all the newsagents here in the UK and aptly named - PORTUGAL. This first issue is dated February/March - Issue 1
Just when we thought all of the rumour mongering regarding moratoriae the magazine clearly states ' The Government is considering granting an amnesty period. There is a quotation from Joao Nogueira, a Director of estate agents Bolsa de Imoveis de Portugal (BIP) stating ' It is likely that during this amnesty, offshore property owners who bring their homes onshore will be free of any capital gains tax'.
The words 'considering' and 'likely' do feature largely but is there any support for this from those who know about these things. I would expect an Estate Agent to try and talk the market up but are there any hard facts [/i]
