It has got to be good for the reservoirs and the water table underground but it could have waited for another week or so and let all the people who have gone over for Christmas have a nice sunny time.... hey ho, it is that time of year tho'
Re: rainfall
I've just been out with the dogs, I'm sodden, the dogs are sodden, in fact it's been a sodden Christmas. But a lovely one all the same.

The cows we pass on the way to Lagoa have had to move onto a higher ground but I bet they are enjoying the fresh, green grass.

I am wondering how well supported the New Years Day swim in aid of shoes
for orphans at the Hotel Garbe will be. We usually go if we are in Portugal
it is good fun and for a very good cause, it won`t be much fun if it is wet,
fingers crossed the sun will come out just in time. If anyone goes let us know
how it went and did you swim!!!

We've had wild narcissis blooming in the garden for a week or so, really beautiful & they seem to be thriving in these weather conditions. But there's a lot of flooding in the orchards around us, don't know how this is going to effect the crops.

Unless there's a significant change in the sea conditions, they'll be pushed to hold it, There were a group of kids trying to swim at Gale today and they weren't getting more than a few yards before being knocked flat.MaisieK wrote:I am wondering how well supported the New Years Day swim in aid of shoes

Re: rainfall
around here there are loads of orange farms, looking around it would appear that there are as many oranges now on the ground caused by strong winds and rainfall as are left on the trees
