I agree with you Widge none of us know where prices are going.
I too would expect them to soften in the short term because as demand picks up many buyers desperate to sell will be glad of any offer.
We know agents who had income in 6 figures through 2007/8 for them the crunch arrived in 2009.
I know individuals who this year have had their best since then.
The glass my be a long way from being half full but at least it has something in it.

That report paints a very grim picture on the Portuguese property market. At least the Portuguese government have implemented much-needed reforms on landlord and tenant laws. Not sure of the laws in Spain now but we had a family friend years ago whom had an apartment in Madrid. For two years her tenants(married couple) paid no rent, could not be evicted and worse of all she had to pay the tenants' electricity, water, rates/equivalent. It gave her much grief - obviously! I assume Spain has since then changed her tenancy laws!
