Watch out, there's a thief (or three) about...
Just to let you know, the villa we are having renovated in Carvoeiro was broken into last night and three air conditioners were pinched, plus two very heavy inverters, as well as loads of tools and equipment, copper pipe, etc. It must have taken a few strong men up to an hour to shift it all. Watch out!

Sorry to hear that. Is the contractor responsible for security? Is he going to compensate you?

It's a good bet his workers did. We just finished a remodel and it was made clear that anything that was stolen would be the responsibility of the contractor. Nothing new was taken, however, a few pieces that we would have re-used disappeared. Small value items only. e.g. a bathroom mirror, a hanging lamp.Michael Crane wrote:Did the contractor do it???Globetrotter wrote:![]()

It amazes me that no-one ever sees things happenGlobetrotter wrote:It's a good bet his workers did. No, our contractor did not perpetrate this! Nor did his staff, who have been with him for 12 years and are very trustworthy.
But we have worked out who probably did it...someone who advertised their services supplying electric shutters, but who turned out not to have a van or a landline and made repeated visits to "measure up" the windows.
We hope to find out more soon.
