Taxi vs Transfer Faro to Carvoeiro

Hi everyone
I am flying to Faro next week and staying in Carvoeiro. Just wondering whether the cheapest way to get there is via a transfer? or whether it is best to go outside the airport and jump in a taxi. It seems like it is around 48-50 euros per person one way to Carvoeiro, which for the two of us, seems a bit steep considering it is a 45min drive.
Thanks

We booked a taxi transfer through one of the firms on the carvoeiro.com website - they were waiting for us at the airport and picked us up again to go home - reasonably priced and reliable.

We have booked our taxi through the reception at Rocha Brava - as it is a weekend pick up 60 euro's one way. Taxi driver will be waiting for us in the arrival lounge - and in approx 40 minutes we will be at the the Rocha Brava complex.

We have often used the airport transfer company advertised on this website - the price is for the trip so, for example, our son and 5 friends were charged 59 euros each way - ie around 10 euros each person each way - pretty good value we thought. I think the current price for a normal 4 seater is 49 euros per trip. My impression is that just jumping in a taxi outside the airport would cost you a bit more but haven't ever tried it !

At least with a pre booked one you know the price before you set off.

for the small extra price, and flexibility, why not hire a car?
