Mirachoro web site

Our room was the best in the hotel. It's the one on its own to the left of the sign.

I have a couple more pictures HERE

After reading your messages rating this hotel we decided to stay there this week for a couple of nights while we were unable to stay in our villa due to building work. We were not very impressed with our stay.

Yes I would agree that Mike did get the best room in the hotel. We however did not!

Firstly we arrived to be met by a very grumpy man at reception who booked us in with a stoney face and looked like a smile would crack his face. We were given a room on the ground floor. Eventually after venturing down several corridors we had to go back to reception to ask how to actually find the rooms on the ground floor as there were no signs anywhere! We were then directed through 2 sets if large grey, 'push handle to open' type fire doors - silly us..... of course one would expect to go through 2 sets of fire doors to find the rooms!! Once inside our room we found we were in a 'corner' room with the balcony of the other corner room looking straight into our room! Admittedly the room was clean, if small, and the air conditioning worked well. Don't expect to make a drink though as there are no tea or coffee making facilities and the advertised mini bar was empty. I asked for an iron only to be told I would have to go to reception and get it myself.
We ventured to the pool, the bar was open but the barman was rarely there. During my swim in the pool I kept finding clear plastic beer glasses in the pool!
The breakfast was the usual hotel self service, nothing special. The interior of the hotel was bright to say the least with every wall painted a different combination of red, yellow, blue etc - i think my kids would have made a better job if given a paint brush. The floors were tiled in the corridors and rooms and the sounds of late night holiday makers, slamming of the fire doors and shoes were quite noisy.
All in all - its clean, basic, not too friendly but is central, i wouldn't stay again its back to the Almansor for me - a much better class of hotel.
Sorry Mike.

That's OK C, no need to say sorry to me. :)

We had a great time there - but, if we went back who's to say what sort of time we'd have?

I also prefer the Almansor . . . . but, Mirachoro 87 euros per night, Almansor 135 euros per night, we chose the 'cheaper' one and spent what we saved on drink! 8)

Thanks for the info Michael. Do you mind me asking, what the number of that room is, as we have booked a 9 night stay for later this summer.
Thanks

have to say, we thought it was spot on. we had room 333 and 333a which join together as a family suite. £ 500 for six nights, including breakfast for a family of four. Easy walk to the restaurants.

The walls used to be cream, but whilst we were there, Rolf Harris moved in and did the paint job. I agree that it doesn't really work, but as a base it suited us down to the ground. the indoor pool could do with brightening up, but over all, pretty good

Ah, Carvoeiro. Often on looking at the webcam. really nice place

Must have been the same guy that "greeted" me at the desk last year. I was just looking for information about the hotel and I was made to feel as if I should be checking elsewhere....it was a real turnoff.

Hotel Mirachoro

Hello all together,

last year I stayed there also for two weeks. I think that the hotel is clean but it´s not o.k. to get the same food for two weeks. When we came to dinner a bit later than half past eight we didin´t get the chance to have the whole food. Because when there was something missing at the buffet they said, that it was your fault because you were too late. Most of the stuff in the restaurant was very unfriendly.
Later we also had some different problems with our passboarts. So don´t forget your passboat after renting there a save.
Greetings from Germany
