Island trips

Post by madaboutangling »

Been on two island trips this visit that I really recommend.
Firstly Culatra, which you reach by ferry from Olhao best for 4 Euros return. Drop off at the Culatra stop, walk along the boardwalk to the beach, then you can walk along this beautiful beach west for about an hour until you reach the lighthouse. Nearby is a very chilled cafe ba called Maramais where you can relax for hours before getting the return ferry from the Farol stop. The 11am out and 4pm back times work well. See timetable bu Googling Culatra visits.
Then you can visit the Ilha Deserta from Farol. It is beautiful with only one building on it- a restaurant which serves good food. On arrival you can follow a boardwalk around the island fo4 an hour, connecting with the stunning beach, then walk to near the restaurant where there are sun beds. Went out on ferry at 10am, returning at 4pm. 10 Euros. Can book online. Enjoy!
