New wooden structure?
New wooden structure?
Anyone any idea what the new large curved wooden structure is for between the Tivoli and Palm Gardens? Can't be a look out as nothing to look out onto!! at the moment. Obviously the ones either side of the steps at Praia Centienes is for pedestrians to admire the view and rest their weary legs but this other one is a bit of a mystery?
Re: New wooden structure?
agreed.... looked at it yesterday.
looks like it is going to be a viewing/seating platform, but as you say.. it will only look over the apartments.. unless they somehow create a new angle, that I could not see from where I was standing...
plot thickens !

And it thickens even more, yet another structure going up, either looking onto the main road or the scruffy side of the Tivoli that hasn't been renovated! Maybe to listen to the dreadful noise of the air conditioning units that have been switched on since the 14th May continuously 24 hours a day!

Maybe they are sound baffles to cut out the noise of the AC units.

i assume you can hear them from where you are..? if so, you should complain. firstly to the hotel, then if no joy, the council..they should be surrounded by sound deadening material...
we had a similar issue the uk and the council made them build a simple structure that deflected the sound away.
Re: New wooden structure?
The local residents of the surrounding areas all signed a letter and this was submitted to the council offices way back. A reply was received confirming they had visited the hotel and had been told that new units were being purchased and would be fitted at some future date! The same story was given to us all by the secretary of the general manager of the hotel. Then we were told by the same lady that even when they were in stock it would take 4 days to fit them and the hotel would have to be closed!! Yesterday another complaint was submitted to the council offices and we now await the next outcome. Not sure whether any proof of purchase has been seen. Meantime we all have to endure the continual noise emitted in order to keep the paying guests of the hotel comfortable, never mind the neighbours.

Roy,as Pato would say "a business opportunity there ! ".
Re: New wooden structure?
I noticed that the ends of some them started to curve towards the sea, and wonder if they are going to be made into walkways to the coast.
