Christmas Fayre Vila Vita Biergarten Porches

Post by Bruce Wallis »

Impressed by the excellent advertising and Vila Vitas reputation, we went to experience this German style Christmas Extravaganza.
When we got to Porches roundabout we parked up and went to find the festivities. By the gate we discovered a circle of garden sheds, offering German Sausage and Gluvhine, as well as sales outlets for Vila Vita. Equipped with sausage and very sweet sticky and not very pleasant hot red wine, we went in search of the music and Christmas stalls that we had come to see. But nothing. The circle of stalls by the gate was it!
After the inferred promise of the advertising we were immensely disappointed, and frankly, felt cheated.

We know that many so called events and trade fairs in the area are somewhat over hyped , but this was especially disappointing.
So, if you are tempted by the advertising for next weekend.......temper your expectations.

On this I must totally agree with Bruce, a very disappointing event, no local craft stalls nothing but selling Vila Vita. Met several Carvoeiro residents who all agree, So much publicity and nothing to offer. The weather was bad but nothing had been moved inside and did not get the impression that other stalls would have been there if it had been a dry weekend.

haha.....wish i'd read the previous comments sooner. Went there on Saturday and was totally underwhelmed, took the grand daughter in her buggy but couldn't push her around because of the loose stones,so we left after 2 minutes. Shall not be tempted next year
