I don't know if this link will work, it appeared on my FB page, but it seems they're tinkering with the traffic direction up the steep hill by the beach towards Sesmarias again.
Fo years it went up, and came down by the Post Office, then it came down, and now it's going back up again by the looks of things.

As far as I can tell, its only at the proposal stage.
And for those who cannot see the link:

I can remember when you could drive up the hill past Rascals, then it was changed so you could drive down the road. We used to sit in Metabixo and watch the carnage as people who hadn't noticed the "No right turn" signs and tried to drive up the road only to be met with cars coming down!! There was also an old boy sitting on the steps near Sullys who was highly amused by the going ons!!!
So, all change again!!

Don't know why they don't make these narrow roads at either side of the beach pedestrian/access (for businesses etc.) only. Carvoeiro has an 'in' road, an 'out' road and a two way 'in/out' road - surely that is enough?

It would be nice if they were semi-pedestrianised, particularly this one in question as it does not have a continuous footpath all the way down. At least the one on the GNR side has steps all the way down which makes it safer.

I see from the webcam that they are widening the intersection outside Rascals, probably to make turns uphill easier.

This is definitely happening with effect from 8am on Monday 13th July......
Drive carefully out there and please don't assume that you won't come face to face with a car now travelling in the wrong direction down one of the roads x

Sure there will be cars in both directions all over the place, the last time they changed months later drivers were saying " my sat nav says I can come this way " so please drive slowly over the summer and no I will not offer to reverse a panic stricken tourist driver up or down either of the roads concerned.Driving forward up and down either road is a task in itself in the summer when cars are parked, ( often illegally on both sides).

What is more of a concern, is the amount of traffic coming down Estrada do Farol, will now be going across the road/walkway in front of Soares/Matabixo to go up the road by Sullys.
Pedestrians walk aimlessly around this area or stand on it waiting for the train, oblivious to the cars that currently traverse this bit of road. Now that the system is changing, with a large increase in the volume of cars and vans using it, someone is going to get injured.

its chaos now, just been watching all the new arrivals getting very confused on the square.
This probably isnt the best time of year for a change of traffic route

One positive out of the changes is that the new Boetca restaurant will get more passing trade.
I wonder if the owner has friends in high places in the Camara.
Surely not.

It's chaos at the moment - they changed it yesterday and there are new signs pointing which way to go but as yet, there is no "No Entry" sign to stop cars going down the last bit.
