Approx taxi cost from Faro to Carvoeiro ?

Hi all,

I'm revisiting Carvoeiro on a two week trip arriving tomorrow. It seems my partner has made a mistake in thinking she had confirmed our car hire with a local company as she was given a booking reference number. This might not be the case and I'm waiting to hear a reply back from Travelrent car hire to confirm this.
I've checked online for other quotes and they are coming in at nearly £800. We might now go with the option of relying on taxis to get us around while shopping etc. I would like to find out though the approx cost of a taxi from Faro airport ?.

Any info would be appreciated.

Travelrent usually give a quote, you email them back accepting and they reply with booking number

they charge €20 up front for motorway tolls, if you don't use motorways you get the €20 back on return of the car.You have the full use of the €20 if you do use the motorway, can't recall the exact tolls but under €4 from airport to Alcantarilha exit, maybe €1 more to Lagoa.

if you have a reference number chances are you have a booking. Easy enough to email them to confirm.


plenty of cheap transfer companys from airport to cvo, just google airport transfers. Not all are door to door (Hoppa only go to hotels or apartment blocks) but most drivers are fairly accommodating.

resorthoppa and mytransfer both use Green bus - my transfer is a standard €10pp/each way and they will drop off and pick up at your apartment block, villa etc.

You will be pleased to know that my initial concerns were unfounded and we have arrived in our villa as expected.

Timely warning. I will probably need a transfer in late Sept as I have cancelled my TR booking (only a short stay - won't need a car) was going to use Hoppa. Won't now obviously, cant find mytransfer details anywhere when I google faro airport transers, was thinking of Shuttle direct. Anybody use them previously ?
