We are coming over next saturday and for the first time we will have our 5 month old grandson (Freddie) with us. Please could someone tell us if the local supermarkets sell SMA first infant (already made up in bottles!) as otherwise we will have to bring loads over. Thankyou!!

Hi

Don't recall seeing the made up cartons we can buy here but SMA in powder form is available in most big supermarkets eg Intermarche, Continente. It is more expensive than at home but not by that much when you consider the weight and space issues of carrying from home! We took the usual bottles last year for our, then, 11 month old and bought the tubs locally. The recommendation is to make it up with LUSO bottled water and we had no problems at all. Also, we found that they sell the large tins we get but also smaller tins of powder as well so we were able to buy one of those towards the end of our trip and not have much to leave behind/waste!

We were back again this year with our now two year old and found that there is plenty of useful advice on this forum and lots of helpful people (inc me I hope!) if you have any more questions!
