Hi Everyone
Many thanks for everyone who assisted re: car hire whilst staying at the Colina Da Lapa.
As I have now sorted the car hire are there any restaurants that people would recommend near to the Colina or within a short drive ? Ideally child friendly as we have 2 small children.
Many thanks.

There are many places within a short drive, and most are child friendly. Here are a few.
The Island Cafe - right across the street from Colina de Lapa
Casa Branca in Carvoeiro Clube, take the main road toward CVO at the roundabout, take the right. At the next roundabout, go 'straight' and the restaurant is onyour right. They serve reasonably priced Portuguese fare in generous sized portions. We like their chicken piri piri
The Original between CVO Clube and Sesmarias. At the second roundabout (above) take a right, continue past the tennis club. The restaurant is about 1/2 km farther. An open air restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. Charming and quaint. They have excellent service in a casual atmosphere
Donato's -on the main roundabout
Luisa's Pizzeria - Across from Donato's
Ele and Ela – Downtown Carvoeiro
Taste – Tapas restaurant owned by the same team that has Ele and Ela. Also in downtown Carvoeiro.
Casa Do Pão – Downtown Carvoeiro. Excellent piri piri. Outdoor dining with a pleasant ambiance.
Rei da Praia – literally on the beach at Caneiros...about 1 kms down from Colina da Lapa, direction Ferragudo. Beautiful ambiance, good service, not inexpensive and must reserve. If your kids are small, may not be the best option.
The restaurant at Praia de Pintadinho – The next beach over from Caneiros. If you hit Ferragudo, you have gone too far. Excellent food, good prices, not as swishy an atmosphere as Rei da Praia but better for kids and lower key. We like this one a lot! Cash only. Very casual and right on the beach.
Bon Bon´s - An upscale restaurant with live music on Fridays. Walk by the water tower and across the street you will see a small urbanization with a sign for Bon Bon´s. Reservations are recommended. Maybe not that kid friendly...can be pretentious due to the maitre d' Owners are quite nice though.
Casa Rustica – another charming restaurant that is a bit more upscale with wonderfully friendly service. One of our favorites! The German couple that own this restaurant love children and make you feel at home. It is located right next to Bon Bons. Cash only...I think
Monte Carvoeiro has an assortment of restaurants including steak on stone establishments, Indian and sports and jazz bars.

Thanks for the information traveler. We tried Casa Rustica last week and we were very impressed. The food was good and our welcome very warm and friendly. Now on our list to revisit.
