have never eaten there before as we live near Silves so dont come into CVO all that often when we are over as we tend to eat locally, although have now tried Chrissies in Lago and that is very good

no not much the 1st time we spent NYE in Silves was 7 years ago it was our 1st christmas in the villa and we took our friends with us and thought we would have a meal out which we did and thoroughly enjoyed it and then thought we would wander around the town and see what bars were open and this was at about 11pm and we couldnt find any open the whole town was as quiet as a mouse, there was no music playing that we could hear so we took taxis back to the villa and finished the evening off in good style at home. I think most people go to the firework displays in Portimeo / Alvor etc. We have been to them both over the years but last year we went for a meal in CVO and off to Harrys as Bob and Ida are friends of ours and had a great time.

I posted about NYE in CVO a few weeks ago as we will be staying in our brand new villa for new year. I checked out Los Olivios which is about 150 euros per person, including drinks package and live music. Thought that was way too much. We think we may go to Primavera on restaurant hill just as it levels out. they should have their final details in the next few days. There is another restaurant just after Caneiros beach heading towards Farrugudo which is new and may be worth thinking about. I am waiting for friends to go there in the next couple of days and give me feed back. Bon Bons is having a NYE evening which I think is 69 euros. I had wanted dancing and there is nothing organised but may be fireworks. Hope you enjoy your stay. :D happy Christmas to all. :D

Hi Licy
We have past Gasto several times in the past few weeks and it always looks reasonably busy. (its almost opposite Le Paradis on the Ferragudo road from Carvoeiro)
There is no menu outside so I would love to know what your friends think of it.

The friends enjoyed the restaurant and NYE menu was about €53 but it was a buffet so not what we are looking for.

Hi Rob
As a local I have actually been to Christmas Lunch party at a place called Bistro 72 (on the out road before Taste and Harry`s) The Christmas Lunch was superb excellent value for money and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. They are having a Carribean Carnival on New Years Eve with food and dancing ~it sounds really good and I will be taking all of my family. :D

I heard about the Carribean night at Bistro 72. Bet that will be some fun!
Shame, I'll be back in England by then....should have timed my visit better!
