many of those channels you can watch catchup TV via the web for free and have been able to for a good while...use an ipad and you can download free apps that put them on your device in a sensible order..some you can watch a whole series on - they tend to expire after a given length of time to be replaced with more recent...I would raise a question over Sky channels as far as I understand you need to be a sky subscriber to get 'sky on the go'...but in principle yes you can watch them via the web or apps on a catchup basis....you will clearly need web access

Well i never thought i would reply to anything that EMM had anything to do with but here it is . EMM please tell me after all you have said about various subjects relating to ENGLISH PRODUCTS, ICELAND, when in Portugal do as the Portuguese do, support local business, buy whats available locally its as good as anything else, if its good enough for the Portugese its good enough for you. PLEASE TELL ME YOU DO NOT HAVE SKY TV IN YOUR PT PROPERTY . I could have lost all faith in you, or i await the ATTACK.

cost depends on whether you have internet connection or not and if you were to want Sky on it.....not everything in life is free.

We do have Freesat we also have PT TV.
We have also found that using your " friendly brit " installer can also be very costly, quoted 40% more than the portuguese we used.
We have also found the same with other services.
Recently when we started to lose more and more channels we called the eng , he came after hours, fitted a new LNB adjusted the dish and charged us a very reasonable ** euros.
Friend with the same problem called the " friendly brit " he went up on the roof said they would need this or that replaced and the cost for his visit was also "" euros. the return visit would also be ** euros plus parts.

What he does not know is that he has lost at least 9 new installations to the Portuguese eng.
He probably sits in his local brit bar complaining to his contemporaries about how tough it is and how bad the recession is etc etc.

Just because its British does not mean it is worth paying a premium.

I think you have missed Bazzas point, he is refering to Sky TV as a British product ...I dont think he was having a dig at the British workforce....

He just glossed over the fact that he has UK tv & used the question as another opportunity to attack a Brit, very strange man. Do you think he was bitten by a Brit' when he was a lad?
I assumed that EMM was fluent in the Portuguese language after all these years & such an expert that he wouldn't need or want to subscribe to any non-Portuguese television when he stays here. What's the point of coming to the Algarve & sitting around all day watching UK tv?

YES OFF TOPIC ,
I commented about someone who clearly believed that as a Brit he could overcharge fellow Brits who were not aware that you can get better value and service( sometimes ) locally. By the way the business he has lost was for other Brits who live or own property in the Algarve, word soon got around.
How do you explain quotes from other "recommended "British operators in the Algarve that were 40% more expensive than local Carvoeiro ones. other than the reason that as Brit newcomers they did not expect us to go anywhere else.
I would hope that newcomers to this forum would realise that there can be better choice and value outside of the Expat bubble.

Glossing over the fact?? Did I not say we have FREESAT.!! I need to see what treats Iceland is selling this Christmas.
