The entertainment throughout Carvoeiro this year was outstanding.
The stage in the main square has entertainment each night to the end September, also there is music on a stage on the out road in Tues & Thurs nights.
Another good place is the square outside Mungos with open air music also.
On top of all this you have the usual music in Bradys, Round Up. Black Stove and many more. Well done to all concerned.
The advertised parade on Saturday 23rd was a bit of a joke and if you blinked twice it was gone.
Hope Big Will (RoundUp) recovers from a spider bite from which he was seriously ill.Antonio is doing a great job also.
On the negative side I found that some restaurants have increased their prices and also the quality of service very disappointing.
Casa Algarvia , a regular of mine was the worst, a 1hr wait between the starter and main course and the waiter tried to justify the delay.
From memory it was similar in 2010.They seem to get you seated serve the couvert & starter and then let you wait & wait.
Come on the menus are basic and should be served withen 20-30 mins from starter.
Overall the weather was fantastic. wonderful beaches and excellent nightlife.
You wont be disappointed with Carvoeiro during the summer of 2011.
One word of caution- do not park across from Hemminways on the out road as the police/GNR have now aquired wheel clamps and will empty your pocket of 300 euros to release. There is a new car park up the hill on the RHS and its only a small walk (100metres) to the out road

We liked the guy in the main square who sang on wednesday evenings and sundays, think his name was Ronaldo or something. So if he reads this your "friends from the balcony" are asking for you. He will know what I mean
Hubby thinks his name was Ricardo, could anyone please enlighten us to what his name actually is, thanks

We came back on Friday and liked him too. I think his name's Ricardo Sousa, we were hoping he had a cd?? Googling it looks like he did well in a tv talent show, but perhaps it's just his namesake??

Thanks Holiday1 for giving me his name, we thought he sang really well, especially loved him singing Jessie J's song Price Tag. We had arrived in Cvo on a Tuesday and heard him on the Wednesday evening, our accommodation was very close to the square and we made sure we were around for him on the Sunday evening. We were the ones dancing in the square, we had rather a lot of wine to drink those 2 nights but i think Ricardo appreciated our enthusiasm   Only hope anyone on the forum wasn't there either of those nights

No wonder you Scots like the bagpipes - we sat in Martins Grill on Weds evening and that guy murdered every song he did - truly dreadful! - he could have sung a James Blunt song and not actually improved it!
