As Macassa , hasn't posted a photo, here's one we took in April, showing the tower in rather a poor shape!

Our intrepid walking group at the Tower.....note the " spider" is still there, but looks a bit dead now!

Thanks Gunni, but the scroll doesn't seem to work for me. Others had more success?

Indeed it is, but you can't seem to zoom in on the tower.

Do you see the controls at the top-left of the image? Click on the +. If you can't see or do this, then you have a problem with Google Maps or your settings.

I have embedded the map here.

Does this work for you?

You should be able to scroll the map in all directions and zoom or out with the + and -

Thanks Michael
Yes, I can see the zoom & scroll buttons clearly, they just don't work for me....I have checked with Google Maps and can find the tower and zoom/scroll along the coast OK, so there's not a problem with Google Maps. The inbedded map is fine also, it's just the URL link doesn't seem to work. Never mind though. Be interesting if anyone else has a problem.

Walking along the coast the other month, disappointed to see that the tower is in an even more sorry state:

Maybe the camera will realise it's importance as a refugee spotting building and re-furbish it, there you go, that's better than that silly spider comment.

Did that lady in the photograph realise that there was a bl***dy great big spider crawling down that tower above her head. Hope she was OK :D
I still can't help smiling when I see that photo...unfortunately, the "spider" is long dead, though a few twigs remain!

Well, it's taken almost 9 years, but the tower has been repaired...in fact, it's all been repointed as well and now looks brand new rather than a few hundred years old, but that's being a bit churlish I expect.
Well done, whoever...presumably the local camara...no sign of EU funds being used!
