Missed out on a cheap pint in March as there was a considerable amount of refurbishment going on including a new roof. Does anyone know if it's re opened yet? Hope it hasn't changed to much as it has real character

John, if you know the roundabout at Sesmarias, then head to Ferragudo from the roundabout and it's the first bar on the right. Great local atmosphere lunchtimes 12.30-2.00 when there's a good mix of locals and tourists all chatting away. Even more interesting is when they kill a few chickens from the chicken run behind it

Sounds a little far out to me as we stay at Rocha Brava and quite often walk to the village. Also do not like the sound of what happens to the chickens...............

They had totally gutted the place in February and by the 1st of April were open with new roof, walls everything -but it looks identical to before. Never stopped there, but do like Casa Joao across the road right at the trraffic roundabout. Grear pizza, and excellent prices.

If you were there in May I was one of them afore mentioned golfers. Many a time Rosa had to jump on her moped to get more bread, cheese and ham!

Mike, Chislehurst and I used to love this bar.Cheap beer, local people, and somewhere to watch
the world go by.It holds special memories. He rang me from there
many years ago while he was on holiday and asked to see me when he returned. And then we got married!
What an improvement they have made although in a way it was nice just the way it was.
Loved the old fashioned telephone on the stand.
There is a lovely old couple who arrive on a battered old motorbike, (don't know if they still do) with equally battered helmets
and everyone seems to know them. She is such a character.
Worth a visit I would say.
