The microphone on my laptop is the tiniest of little pinprick holes above the keyboard, but yours may be anywhere... so here's how to test that its working:

Go to Start/Control Panel and double click "Sounds and Audio Devices", then select the Voice tab at the top and you'll see something like this picture. Click on Test Hardware, and follow the instructions, which may also ask you to unblock some security setting in order to access the Microsoft site. This is safe !

If after all this, you cannot hear your own voice coming out of your computer, you probably don't have a microphone. Either that or my instructions are too complicated

My ex boyfriend could never remember the name of the place so he used this funky little memory thing and called it Carve Your Hair Off.

I only came on here to ask how to pronounce Carvoeiro because I have booked a week's break there from 19th June, seems I have started a bit of discussion now and have had to register because you all made me laugh so much x thanks for that
