I adore Seville and would recommend it to anyone; it has a great feel, most of the attractions are confined in the same area so you can do everything on foot, the jamon iberico is just about the best meat in the world & the wine to wash it down utterly delicious.

Many thanks for all of the replies. Major food for thought. Since I made that first post, we have discovered an escorted tour of Northern Portugal, staying in Lisbon, Cascais and Porto, and visiting Sintra, Coimbra, and Fatima, and including a trip up the Douro. It is not booked yet, but will be soon.

So, now thinking we will be happy with a seventh visit to CVO in April - just a week is fine. I keep thinking I might get a bit tired of "the village", but every time I return I just think it is so attractive in low season. I have looked at the Alvoruncovered site, which offers a great choice, but nothing I came across quite fitted the bill. But a visit late September/early October might still be a possibility.

I have noticed that flights from Luton, my local airport, seem to be getting booked up quite early this year. Monarch, which only flies to Faro 3 days a week in April, has moved its departure time from 6.40, which suited us fine, to 14.10, not so convenient, and that means demand for EJ flights seems to have increased. So I think I'll need to decide soon, rather than leave it until mid January, as I have in the past.

Roy, thanks for mentioning Monte Gordo - somewhere I'll need to do some research. Visits to Seville, and revisit to Granada are on the list, but will have to wait a little while.

Thanks again. BB.
