Re: When do you know you are 'home'?
I start to relax when I'm driving away from the airport, but I really feel I'm home when I come over the crest of the hill by the water tower near Chicken George, and get my first glimpse of the lighthouse at Alfanzina.

The moment the aircraft doors open and you get that wonderful gush of warm air with the unmistakable smell of the algarvian wild herbs, i can almost smell it now

Im the same as you Helyg... You cant beat that lovely smell as you step out of the plane.
Re: When do you know you are 'home'?
Can I be allowed three. First is the plane touching down and you know you are back on Portugues soil. Second is arriving back at the villa, and we are at our home. Third is waking up the next morning, and realizing you are home. Nothing can better it.
