Monte Santo holiday in Carvoeiro
Monte Santo holiday in Carvoeiro
We have just returned from a holiday at the Monte Santo resort in Carvoeiro. This was our second year here after a fantastic holiday last year. This year has not disappointed either. The staff were excellent in particular Chris, Bruno and Ruiz (?) who worked in the bar and restaurant. We were a family with 2 boys aged 7 and 4 , who thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Our youngest has a serious peanut allergy and the staff went out of their way to acommodate us in the restaurant. Thanks to Monica for this. There was entertainment on most nights and the face painting by Tatiana was a hit with the boys and the Sunset pool party a hit with myself .
The staff work extremely hard and I do hope Monte Santo management recognise this.
We unfortunately had to call a doctor out and within an hour of asking reception the doctor arrived and examined our youngest before prescribing a course of antibiotics.
The only minor criticism I have is that perhaps the kids club could do with an overhaul as it was not as good as last year.
Restaurants wise we went to Originals-simple fare but good value.
OBarrils in Ferragudo which was manic and for the second year running they charged for drinks which we hadn't ordered. (Good job I checked) .
We also went to a restaurant which had only opened the day before in Ferragudo , which was formerly A Ribeira. Excellent service and fresh fish.
We went to Lamim in Lagoa , not cheap but very good service and food and O Agostinho in Quarteira, which was excellent .
We ate in the restaurant at Monte Santo , good food and good service.
