If bitten use your thumb nail and make the mark of a cross with as much force as you can stand with the bite in the centre of the cross and the itch will disappear!

Living in Canada we know a thing or two about mosquitoes. We would never dream of not having fly screens on all our doors and windows. When we bought an apartment in Carvoeiro the first thing we did was put screens on all doors and windows and have never ever been bitten inside, believe me this is only sure thing. Outside deet is still the best but even that is not perfect for my wife. Hope this helps, we never cease be amazed when Brits leave doors and windows open wothout screens when it gets hot.
