Couple of folk I know were at Opening Night. Apart from the menus being sent back to printers, everything seemed to go well. Enjoyed the food served up.

A really good night was had by all. The generosity of Frank and Christina knows no bounds. I hope they are very successful in their new venture. Oh and their White House wine is delicious. We will be there when we are back in May. Roll on.

Re: Casa Algarvia
We were there on Sunday night having braved a monsoon to get from the car.
The service and ambiance was excellent - our starters were excellent but our main course (Steak Portuguese Style) was poor. They didn't take credit cards but did say they would have that facility shortly. When we booked Christina told us they are looking for a chef - having parted company with the one they opened with - leaving Frank to do the cooking - for now.
We would go back as they are genuinely nice people and I'm sure they will get it right in time

Re: Casa Algarvia
3 of us went last Saturday night and all agreed food was very good. Plenty of food on my and my wife's plate but my son felt his chicken piri-piri at A Fonte was better and more meaty. I had the Portugese Steak and was done to my complete satfiscation. Bottle of House White very good for €10. Fairly busy for early evening. Had been to previous Casa Algarvia and always wonder if new owners can match or better that experience............we'll definately be back! And since we're back over to CVO in April, probably then!!
