Carvoeiro Person of the Year

the annual award season in in swing, perhaps time to start our own Carvoiero Person of the Year aka the Carvies (will require the owner of this site to produce a certificate and present it of course)

my nomination is the head postmistress at the Carvoeiro Post Office...every time you go there she is always cheery, always a smile and efficient

I think it is a great idea and will be happy to sponsor flowers and chocolate. Maybe we should make a deadline (31/12/2011?) for nominations and then put them up for votes (1-7/1/2012?).

Couldn't disagree but we need some competition.

How about Big Will - he stands outside Roundup like a one-man anti lager lout patrol.

I've seen him quite a few times pick them up by the collar and eject them - he is not in the best of health so this may be his year.

I vote for Claudia, of Vernons. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her and she's one of the most efficient people I've met in Portugal. Not only that, but her cheerful personality is a delight!

The blonde lady in the post office is very friendly (and efficient)

Margarida does produce a superb newsletter

Libbe in Happys would fill a book

Steen does provide this very valuable website

and I agree with about e-richard

good idea Steen to compile a short list and confine the voting to 1 week

I am sure steen is a worthy contender but most competitions I know of or have ever entered exclude those who work for or own the business which is sponsoring the contest otherwise the competition could face allegations that it had been fixed
