Mini Break to Carvoeiro

Post by tricky »

Hiya
Just returned from four day break to Carvoeiro (the cheap Ryanair flights from Manchester made it a steal)
The weather was lovely and the town was reasonably busy, just right really.
Like someone else has mentioned, it looks very quiet when you look at the webcam, but we found it busier than we expected.
At least the same as this time last year although not like in the past of course.
We had a few late nights at the Cocktail Garden in Monte Carvoeiro with hosts Luis and Catia.
We also learned that the Phoenix bar has closed down and is relocating to the sports bar in the same complex.

We had lunch at Canieros, superb. Visited a newly discovered portuguese restaurant in Ferragudo, brilliant and very cheap with lovely staff.
Went to Luz and had lunch at the Fort overlooking the sea (must go back for dinner in the fantastic restaurant)
On our last night we fancied a sea view and decided to give Tia Ilda another chance, as previously we were never impressed.
Wish we hadn't bothered, expensive and the most tasteless tagliatelli I have every had.
Tried the portuguese restaurant on the left past the market as recommended by many forum members, can't rememember the name,
and it was very good, will go again. Lunch at vila nova on the last day was great as usual

(can you sense a food theme going on here) :D

Made lots of new friends, funny how its easier to get to know people when its quiet.

we had fantastic time and we can't wait for July
