Totally agree. Another excellent newsletter. Well done Margarida. I like your writing style - straight and to the point. Makes me wish to be there for Carnival time. Maybe next year. :D

Another excellent Newsletter, very informative as always. :D :D :D The old sardine factory, I believe is the dwelling on the far side of the Mistral Restaurant on the "out" road towards Lagoa. Which, incidentally, the "out" road could also do with some road calmers-speed bumps, crossing the road after the bend where the kebab shop is like playing chicken, as the traffic starts to accelerate out of the village and the view is blind due the bend.

Excellent newsletter.

Does anyone know where Hans and Karen have gone from Oasis? Have they sold the business and moved away from The Algarve?

Just had dinner there (Oasis) last night. It is exactly the same menu with Carla still cooking. Hans and Karin are still in the Algarve and have no more info about them. The waiter at Oasis didn't seem to know anymore details.

Hi, this is Hans, I can tell you Karin and I are still living in the Algarve, it's been our home for the past 19 years and we're not planning to move. To clear things up: We've been running the Oasis for 15 years and about one and a half year ago the idea came up to sell the restaurant as we would like to look around and find another challenge. We were not able to sell the restaurant (the global crisis didn't really help) and saw a good alternative for selling in leasing the place. We were glad to come to bussiness with Frank and Cristina, who opened up on the 1st of March. At the moment they're open 7 days a week, lunch and dinerhours. The kitchenstaff is the same, obviously except for their days off, that's when Frank, who's a very experienced chef, is in charge of the kitchen. The menu didn't change yet, although they have some daily specials, next to the menu. Frank and Cristina will give their own twist to the Oasis, but I'm sure they will do a very good job!
We'll be around in Carvoeiro and hope to see all of you soon!
Best regards and thanks for many lovely years.
Hans & Karin.

To Hans & Karin - on behalf of our family, relatives and friends who have had many enjoyable evenings and meals (and even breakfasts long ago) at Oasis - Many thanks. Hope you find the challenge you are looking for, and knowing you it will be a success. Sam, Bill, Daniel, Alex & all
