All the portuguese restaurants serve fish, if you don't want bones then tuna or swordfish steaks will be your best bet. Don't be put off by 'bife de atum' - tuna steak - as bife is portuguese for steak, but not necessarily beef steak (with me so far....!!!).

As for vegetarian, oasis, ele ela and maximes all have veggie options. We have found that most other restaurants will make something for you if you ask - A Gale do a pasta with tomato and vegetables that's not on the menu.

There are also the indian, chinese and italian restaurants which always offer something veggie.

I'm sure you'll find plenty to choose from....

Enjoy your holiday

vegetariano - vegetarian

bife - steak fish or meat

filete - fillet

peixe sem espinhas - fish without bones

peixe sem cabeça - fish without head

posta de peixe - is a piece of fish, I can't remember the english word, medallian maybe?

Hope this helps, enjoy your holiday, Pinkiebluesky 8)
