Emergency Plan - In Case of Severe Water Shortage
Emergency Plan - In Case of Severe Water Shortage
As we consider whether to book for the coming winter, we wonder what, if any, plans RB has for coping with serious rationing of water in the area?
According to recent articles in the Guardian, many parts of Portugal are already having to truck in water for drinking and sanitation.
There is no reason to suppose that, if things continue in the current drought cycle, the water will not just run out, considering the high and growing demand for it. Then what?
Will the place shut down in the event?
Are any emergency plans being made for water supply?
What about the pools?
What is the decision process in this matter and what criteria apply?
How will notifications be made?
I am sure there are many more questions that should be asked. But this is a start.

Water not expected to run out
The water has not been turned off in the Algarve this summer. The predictions (press reports October 05) are that water levels for most of the Algarve are OK and therefore water is not expected to be turned off next summer. Rain this winter will of course help the situation and reduce the risk further.
