We have followed Joao (we call him John) from Algar Seco Bistro to Estrela do Mar and now look forward to trying Vimar.
I hope this venture is successful for him. He is very accommodating.

Dennisg - you mentioned Oasis before it closed--- did you mean they were closing for the winter or permanently?

We happened onto one of these Sunday family lunches at the restaurant by the old bridge in Silves, Ponta Roma. It was packed with Portuguese families having lunch after church. A limited menu but something for everyone. Must venture on out- thanks Bruce!

WE go there at least once a week -friendly staff, good food, (kept hot on warming trays at the table), complimentary prawn crackers when you sit down, wine prices a bit below other places, reasonable decor. They hold the door door for you when leaving (nice touch). We always go there the first night...

This really disappoints me, Bruce! We just found this restaurant last February and were thrilled with the food etc., etc. Hope this is just an off time as lots of places suffer from. Was the regular chef there? (can't remember his name)

There is security at Intermarche, both in store and the parking lot. Obviously they have had problems like this in the past. Not good for business - did you report it to Lidl?

I agree we have always marvelled at how honest the Portuguese people are-- even the gypsies at the markets.
