Re: WALK ON 27TH MARCH: Vale Fuzeiros

Superb walk today if you forget that 7 of the 20 got ‘wee’ bee stings! Lovely, friendly lunch at Casa da Vinha at 15 euros per head including a small contribution to the charity. Thanks, as ever for Rick for sourcing extra wine to satisfy everyone. Don has promised to post some pics. Suggest next si...

Re: WALK ON 27TH MARCH: Vale Fuzeiros

It would be good if we could all (those who are lunching) be at the start point on Monday, Casa da Vinha, by 9.45 as they are asking if we can submit our meal preferences before we set off. Only one liver & onions has been requested!
21 walking, 16 definitely for lunch & 3 maybe.

WALK ON 27TH MARCH: Vale Fuzeiros

In the absence of our esteemed leader I am honoured to be asked to organise the next walk. This will be one of the Classic CVO walks. It is circular, well marked but with a few hills to start with and a wee bit of history - Beautiful views, ancient menhirs & tombs! Duration : about 2h00m, may be sli...

WALK 16th JAN 2023 CUMEADA RIDGE

This is a nice walk which we last did in October 2020. Moderately easy circular walk along the Baralha river valley and back along the Cumeada ridge with stunning views. One long uphill stretch, but nothing too dramatic. Start at cafe on the road to the Arade Barragem ( 37.221532, -8.378085 ). Direc...

Re: WALK ON 9th JAN - ODIAXERE

A very nice walk today with 13 walkers plus Toby the dog. Walk seemed to be similar to a year ago with slight deviation at beginning and sticking to road at end without the deviation through the wood/levada. Started to rain near end but apart from that good weather. Six of us went to Snack Bar Manu ...

Re: WALK ON 9th JAN - ODIAXERE

This is an old favourite and a very popular flat walk starting and returning to the nice wee town of Odiaxere. Degree of Difficulty (scale 1:5), is a 1; easy; there are bird watching opportunities at the river. It is about 2.25hrs. Last time we did it there were a few areas that had been cut off so ...
