Re: investment in rocha brava
I think I met Steve when I was out there viewing properties. I assumed he worked for RB management. How can I get in touch with Steve? Might be worth shooting him an email. I believe the split if rented via RB is 60-40, Ideal homes says with their flat rate, I will be much better off. Cheers Jon He...

Re: Log in to Forum
It may be to do with the privacy settings in your internet options. I have sometimes had this problem with other sites, not CVO, particularly ones concerning finances.

Re: investment in rocha brava
Well, I have no regrets having bought a quarter share 18 years ago, then selling it and buying a house outright which I have owned for the past 14 years. We only use it during the winter and rent it out through Rocha Brava from April to October. The rents cover all our maintenance and running costs ...

Re: Mona Lisa
Mona Lisa is a nice restaurant but we prefer Bella Napoli as we can walk there and the food is somewhat cheaper and just as good.

Re: Pizzeria Bella Napoli
We always eat there on our first night at Rocha Brava (except January when they are closed!) and I always have my favourite Pescadore Pizza, delicious. We ate there twice on our last visit in March so I had a different pizza the second time. Always good food, wine and service at reasonable cost.

Not a lot open....
Have just returned from 14 days in CVO, many restaurants closed so those open were quite busy. We ate out every day/night, 13 dinners and 1 lunch. Not a bad one among them. A Gale twice, Oasis twice, Happys 3 times, Casa do Bife twice, Vimar once, Primavera once, O Jardim do Farol once, and Praia Gr...

Re: What is your favourite time of year in Carvoeiro and why
I know the question referred to CVO but my iconic time on the Algarve is November. I usually visit that month (although I didn't last year) and my enduring image is of sitting on the terrace at Café Praia Grande at Ferragudo wearing shorts and T shirt. I am drinking a large beer, have just enjoyed t...

Some of them will go the way of Tescos. At least, unlike Tescos, I don't hold shares in any of them.Bruce Wallis wrote:Apollonia, Coninente on top of all the other supermarkets within an area of 5 square miles?
It does rather smack of over saturation doesn't it?

I thought the current owner of Oasis was a big Dutchman who was connected to Lanterna Verde, being the son of the owner there?

Re: What would you like to see in Carvoeiro in 2015?
I just go to Happy's for proper Fish and Chips, with the added bonus of Mushy Peas, you can't beat it 8) Can get that anywhere in the UK - don't need to go the CVO for them and also be insulted by a Dutchman! We go to Happys to be insulted by a Dutchman. We outnumber him so he gets as bad as he giv...

I have seen motorhomes parked on the cliffs at Benagil. They are not there legally, of course.

Hi Geoff. What a shame. I am coming out for a fortnight on 20th January so will just miss it. We didn't come in November as we went on a cruise instead.

Re: Is it worth buying or renting
Like Lazerblaser we only come out in the winter months when it is usually several degrees warmer than the UK. Being retired we enjoy our summers in England, and our house on Rocha Brava is rented out by the management a lot of the time. The income pays for the annual maintenance and running costs, a...
