Re: CVO Ramblers

It's a good idea for the future....or to trace a walk that's been done....but we fly out tomorrow early & don't have time to do it now. Thanks anyway

Re: CVO Ramblers

Thanks for the map Steen.
Will be very interesting to see how many turn up on 12 March : if successful , will post a date for the following week.

Re: Car Hire

Having tried most of the major companies ( National, Europcar etc) through holidayautos , must say that Travelrent are always very relaiable & reasonable , don't charge extra for an extra driver & don't minutely examine the car for nicks. Minimal waiting & hassle on collection & return.

CVO Ramblers : Walk 12 March 2009

There seems to be quite a few people wanting to go on interesting walks. Can I suggest that we form an ad hoc group, with a name such as the CVO Ramblers? To try & get the ball rolling , can I suggest an inaugural walk on Thursday 12 March at 1000. Meet outside the cemetary in Silves & walk up to th...

To try & get the ball rolling , can I suggest Thursday 12 March at 1000. Meet outside the cemetary in Silves & walk up to the windmill & loop back via the beautiful countyside beyond. About 2 hours. (Directions: driving from CVO to Silves , go over the bridge & turn right. At the roundabout , turn l...

Hi All Well, we entered into the Kings & Queens theme & met up with a lively Jailhouse crowd for a good chinese ( bit early at 6.30/7.0 pm though). Great spirit everywhere in the town , but Rascals was closed , so we couldn't check them out. Jailhouse weas great & we had best NYE for a long time.......

With the £/euro parity , Julie's walks are a bit pricey at 5 euro each. We have found both her books & the Cornflower guides to walks good , but it ought to be possible to arrange an ad hoc group for a walk. We are out in March again & would be happy to meet up with any others for a 2 hr walk , we c...

New Year's Eve & the Jailhouse

Well, I am shocked & surprised! I suppose it's a good job we are all different , but we love the Jailhouse & the nostalgic 60s & 70s music , even if accompanied by Bobby's/Dave's awful jokes. It's a unique treasure &, short of having Eric himself in Carvoeiro, this is great value. Anyway, apart from...

New Years Eve

We are going to spend our first New Year's Eve (2008) in Carvoeiro. Anyone know of any organised celebrations or have recommendations on where to be /go? I suspect the Jailhouse will feature in our plans!

L'Orange

We always visit L'orange whenever we come out, & our two meals in our October visit were as superb as ever. Service is always friendly & it doesn't appear that prices have gone up as much as elsewhere. The duck is excellent & the amusee bouche means you don't always need a starter. Keep up the good ...
