Re: Which Smart TV to buy?
Very interesting to read about Smart TV's. Last time we bought a TV we just wanted to watch TV on it. All singing and dancing versions now. Are they expensive compared to a normal TV?

Re: MEO CAM
So pleased the camera is back. I have really missed looking at the beach especially since we are not able to come over for a holiday at the moment. It would be nice if there was a webcam back in the square as well.

The newsletter
Oh how I miss the newsletter. When at home in England I looked forward to reading all about Carvoeiro. All the news about people, new businesses and old and even the weather. Surely I am not the only person who misses it. Perhaps someone could give us all an update on all that is happening in your l...

Re: Apartment - Mid / End August
We have an apartment in Rua do Barranco not far from Taste restaurante. Look on HomeAwayPortugal 2091464. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a shared pool. Our Manager is Monika who runs the Cheers Bar. Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach

Re: Fry up
Sorry, a bit off the point of fry ups, but I agree Baggysallyjane, Carvoeiro is similar to Lyme Regis. My sister lives there and there and you can only get out of the town by going up a hill.

Re: Monte Dourado
Hi Griff61
We have a 2 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor in Rua do Barranco. There is a swimming pool plus a kiddies pool. No bit hills to climb. It is advertised on the HomeAway website so you may already have looked at it. If this is any help let me know.

Bill and I were on the walk when Ken's shoes disintegrated. It was quite spectacular and he only just made it back to the cafe.

Re: olympics closing ceremony
fmm I totally agree with your comments. I am over 40 but definitely not a fuddy duddy. I could see that the young athletes enjoyed the party and were singing along to the songs so it must have appealed to the young and trendy as well.

Re: olympics closing ceremony
I did wonder if all the people giving negative comments about the closing ceremony actually watched it all. Yes, there were some bits that were not to my taste (super models and ballet come to mind) but it was a wonderful end of event party. Jessie J was wonderful and the Eric Idle sketch very funny...

Re: English speaking GP in Carvoeiro
Thanks to everyone. We hope we will never need the medical services while we are in Carvoeiro but it is nice to know all the info. Different subject - we have just had a day without rain here in Dorset (the sun shone!). Not quite like the Algarve but a nice reminder of what to expect when we come ov...
